PARENT CHAMPION FOR SEND - CONFIDENTIAL MONTHLY SUPPORT AND ADVICE FOR FAMILIES
As a school, we want to play a role in improving SEND services for our children. We have an opportunity to provide a confidential space here in school for families of children with SEND through a new Parent Champion project delivered and funded by SENDiass4BCP and Parent Carers Together.
Each month a dedicated Parent Champion will hold one session to support families in navigating appropriate local and national services and networks to meet the needs of their children. Time slots will be allocated to individual families on a first come first served basis and are held in confidence during the school day. Please send an email to parent.champion@twynhamprimary.com should you wish to book a session and a date and time will be allocated to you. Each session is 30 minutes and will be running on the following dates:
- Monday 14th July, 9.15-11.15am
If you are experiencing difficulties and are unsure where to access the support and resources you need, please do get in touch. The role of the Parent Champion is to listen and to share knowledge of the services and the networks in your local community that may be of help to you.
This is a valuable resource we are so pleased to be part of. Together we can improve services and support for families across our school community.
STORMBREAK AT TPS
We have recently launched Stormbreak at Twynham Primary School.
Stormbreak is a charity (registered in England and Wales) that supports young children’s mental health through movement, equipping them with sustainable skills and coping strategies to thrive during the complex demands of growth into adult life.
Each Stormbreak lasts between 5 to 15 minutes and involves movement and associated conversation and discussion around mental health. At school, we use a mixture of pre-recorded videos and stormbreaks which are delivered by our school staff.
Stormbreak is something that can also be completed at home, as a family, and this PDF contains all the information you should need. It is easy to set up your own parent account, and this video explains how to do it.

NEURODIVERSITY TRAINING WEBINARS AND WORKSHOPS
Please see details below of upcoming training sessions focused on neurodiversity, designed to raise awareness, deepen understanding, and build inclusive practices across workplaces, schools and families.
Whether you're a line manager, employer, working in the care and education sector, or a relative of a neurodivergent family member, these engaging sessions will equip you with practical knowledge and tools to better support neurodivergent individuals (including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and Tourette’s).
With a selection of online and in-person events, all of our content is co-produced with our neurodivergent community, as listening and learning from how their experiences have changed their lives strongly influences our sessions and contributes to active transformation.
Limited places available – early booking is recommended!
